Hello Exiles! Icy here, back with another Path of Exile experiment. Today, I decided to test a strategy that focuses entirely on strong boxes in T16 maps, skipping containment and instead targeting chip boxes. My goal? To see how profitable this approach really is and calculate the investment versus the payoff.



The Setup: Scarabs, Maps, and Strategy with POE currency



For this test, I used the following:



Three Ambush Scarabs



One Patency Scarab



One Discernment Scarab



Here's what I paid for the scarabs and my baseline chaos-to-divine ratio:



Chaos to Divine ratio: ~130C per Divine



Maps: 58 mod T16 Jungle Valley maps, self-farmed (or 8C each from TFT if you prefer buying)



I prioritized certain nodes and modifiers on my maps:



Storm Box Nodes: All except KTO



Scarab Nodes: As many as possible



Originator Maps: Selected



Increased Effect, Greater Altars, and Shrines were included to boost loot quantity and rarity



Ambush Scarabs were favored on the map device for optimal returns



The aim was simple: maximize strong box interactions across 50 maps and then track the total loot, investment, and profit.



Running the Maps



After running the 50 maps, here's what I found:



Divines: 53



Chaos: 42C



Fortunate Cards: Few



Diff Cards: Minimal



Device-related loot: included, but divine altar divines excluded



The total runtime for the 50 maps was 2 hours and 19 minutes.



Calculating Investment



Here's a breakdown of what I invested:



50 T16 Jungle Valley maps: 8C each = 400C



50 Discernment Scarabs: 274C



50 Bant Scarabs: 25C



150 Ambush Scarabs: 180C



50 Ambush Map Devices: 200C



Total investment: 1,079C (~8.3 Divines at 130C/divine)



Profit and Profit Per Hour



The loot, when calculated in Divines, was worth:



Total value: 6,925C (~53.26 Divines)



Profit: 5,846C (~44.96 Divines)



Profit per hour: 2,523C (~19.4 Divines)



That's a solid return for a 2-hour investment!
