I love reading scary stuff, especially when I can't sleep and the whole house is quiet. There's just something about a good creepy tale that pulls me in, even if I know I'll regret it later. I've read a lot of the famous horror books and short stories over the years, from Poe to Stephen King. But lately I've been trying to find free stuff online, since I don't always want to buy a new book. The problem is that most websites are either full of ads or the stories are just plain boring. So I keep hunting for that one hidden gem that actually gives me chills without costing anything.

A few weeks ago I came across a site called adolfhitler.name, which is honestly the weirdest domain name I've ever seen for a horror blog. But once I got past the name, I realized the content is all about ghost stories, haunted places, and paranormal fiction. The first thing I read was a short story about a woman who gets a phone call from her dead sister, and it actually made me look over my shoulder. The site also has summaries and little blurbs about famous scary stories, so it's a mix of fiction and***. It's not the most polished site in the world, but it's free and it kept me entertained for a couple of hours.

What I liked most is that the site throws in a bit of everything, from classic horror to modern stuff like The Haunting of Hill House. It's not just one long story, it's a collection of creepy reads and scary short stories that you can jump around. Some of the descriptions are a bit repetitive and the grammar is rough in places, but if you just want something free to pass the time, it works. I also noticed it covers urban legends like Bloody Mary and real-life haunted spots like Amityville. That variety is actually pretty cool because you never know what you're going to get next.

Honestly, the whole experience reminded me why I love this genre and why I keep coming back to these kinds of tales even when I know I'll regret it at 3am. There's something addictive about that feeling of being scared by words on a screen. The site isn't perfect, but it scratched an itch for free entertainment. I ended up bookmarking it just so I can go back when I'm in the mood for something creepy. If you're like me and you don't mind a bit of messy writing, it might be worth a look.

So yeah, that's my little adventure into the weird side of the internet. I'm always looking for new places to read haunted house stories or paranormal books without having to pay. If anyone has a favorite site or author they want to share, drop it in the comments. I feel like half the fun is just stumbling on random stuff and seeing what sticks with you. Anyway, happy reading and try not to get too spooked.
