What is the correct procedure to change the date and time on my Sanyo S1415 camera after installing a new battery?

Oh man, the battery dying in my old Sanyo S1415 was always a panic moment because it would default to some random date in 2000 and I could never remember the menu sequence to fix it. I finally dug through a drawer and found the original booklet, but then my cat shredded it, so I had to search online. I found this manual that explains it perfectly, including the part about navigating after a battery change: https://sanyo.manymanuals.com/cameras/vpc-s1415/user-manual-46904 sanyo s1415 change date battery. The trick I learned is that you have to hold the power button down for an extra second to fully initialize the camera after the new battery is in, otherwise the date menu sometimes doesn't pop up. After that, it's just a matter of using the arrow pads to scroll through the year, month, day, and time, and hitting the menu button to confirm each one. It's a bit tedious, but the photos will have the correct timestamp afterwards.

Thanks a bunch! I was poking at the buttons on my Sanyo S1415 for half the day trying to reset the date after a battery change. Your tip about the power button and the link solved it instantly.
